About us
The WES Schools & ECE team can:

Conduct waste audits to find out what you are throwing away

Talk with your Board of Trustees and stakeholders to help embed waste minimisation into your school curriculum and policies

Help you set up systems to minimise your school's waste, and provide advice and information on sustainable purchasing practices
- Run workshops for teachers, students and parents including:
- The 3 Rs - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
- Zero-waste lunches
- Composting, EM Bokashi, worm farming

Provide resources, support and advice to the whole school community
- Help you measure your progress in terms of waste reduction and cost savings!
The WES programme for Schools is a free programme funded by the Nelson City and Tasman District Councils, through the Nelson Environment Centre (NEC).
