Waste Education Services (WES) provide a free service to businesses in the Nelson/Tasman region to provide advice and support on how to reduce waste.
Over 50% of rubbish thrown into landfill in New Zealand is from business, a large percentage of which, could be reused or recycled. Reducing the amount of waste going to landfill and implementing effective reuse and recycling measures could save your business money, give you a competitive edge over similar businesses, keep you ahead of the game as costs of waste disposal levies increase, plus of course improve the environment.
The WES team have been working closely with five local businesses (Port Nelson, Nelson Marlborough District Health Board, Bunnings, Richmond Mall and The Cut) to support their moves towards reducing waste. The case studies are available through the NCC website.
